What are the main advantages of this system? The Air Washer has two main features: it washes and humidifies the air. The advantage in comparison to the air cleaners or evaporative humidifiers is that the Air Washer operates without replacement filters. Due to its cleaning function it is suitable for operation throughout the whole year. How does the ISS work? The Ionic Silver Stick (ISS) makes use of the bacteriostatic qualities, which effectively prevent the growth of bacteria and germs. This en-sures that the water remains germ-free even when the appliance is switched off. And what are the disadvantages of this system? Sensitive persons will feel a slight draught when sitting close to the appliance. The Air Washer must be cleaned regularly, approximately every 2 weeks. What care and maintenance is required? Every 2 weeks the remaining water should be tipped out and the base reservoir cleaned and rinsed. Additionally, the disc component should be cleaned thoroughly every month. How should the appliance be stored in summer? For summer storage the appliance must be cleaned and dried. It should be stored in an upright position, high temperatures should be avoided. Are any operating materials required? No operating materials are required. Is a hygrostat required for an Air Washer? No. The humidifying function of the Air Washer is based on the principle of evaporation which automat-ically provides the right level of humidity. This is due to the fact that the air will only absorb as much water from the disc component as the prevailing tempera-ture requires. At what performance and humidification rate does an Air Washer operate? The Air Washer emits approximately 300 g of water per hour into the air. Does an Air Washer provide 100% hygienic humidification? Yes. Provided the appliance is cleaned regularly at the specified intervals it is absolutely hygienic. The anti-bacterial safety system provides additional protection against bacterial growth. Due to the evaporation principle, no waterborne particles such as minerals are emitted into the air. They form residues in the base reservoir. Is an Air Washer in any way hazardous, e. g. for children? No. The fan blades are inaccessible when the appli-ance is closed. How much and what kind of energy is required? The energy required for the evaporation process is taken from the air which may slightly reduce the room temperature. The fan as well as the disc component are powered electrically which requires approx. 20 W. |
